What Our Customers Are Saying:
It feels like "family" at Mike's. You meet friends and make new friends. Great atmosphere with tables outside by the river and inside. Free internet access & use of their computer, sports on TV, live entertainment on weekends. -Gwen
Stopped into Mike's on my first night in Boquete and have been back often since then. I've tried the fish and chips as well as the baked pasta with meatballs, and both were great.

We were touring Panama and stopped in Boquete for 2 nights, wandered in blind and stayed late, good food and a good place to hang out. And for the scotch lovers it is one of the best selections I have seen in a long time. - Caleb
Our Story
Michael and Heidi Rehm are the proud owners of "Mike's Global Grill" since May 2011.
Michael was born in Chicago and went to university of Montana where he ran track and cross-country, and graduated with degrees in Exercise Physiology, and a Master's in Sports Management. After a number of years in college athletics administration at his Alma mater, then Cal State Northridge and San Jose State Universities, he grew tired of the craziness of NCAA Athletics, and sought out adventure as a cook working in Chicago, West Yellowstone, San Francisco, Skagway, Alaska. This led to a cooking gig at the Amundsen-Scott Station in Antarctica that began a 3-year career of being a chef for the crew of an isolated research station on the frozen continent.
Heidi was born in Tucson, AZ and graduated from University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and Emory University Physician Assistant Program. After doing Family Practice and Emergency Medicine in Georgia, her quest for adventure took her to Alaska where she worked in different remote clinics from Dutch Harbor to Barrow. This road also led her to the South Pole working as medical staff in in 2002 and eventually Heidi and Michael med in 2005 at the bottom of the world and fell in love.
In June 2008, in the middle of the Antarctic winter, Michael proposed to Heidi at the geographic South Pole. After spending 3 and 5 winters there respectively, they left the US Antarctic Program and returned to the US, married in Tucson and moved to New York.
Michael Attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY to further his culinary training while Heidi worked for an orthopedic practice as a surgical PA. After he graduated from the CIA, Michael worked as a chef in Manhattan at the Spice Market and Betel, two critically acclaimed Asian restaurants.
While on vacation in 2011, Michael and Heidi fell in love with Boquete and were able to realize their dream of running their own restaurant "overseas" with the purchase of the business. Their passion for food, travel, music and sports are reflected in the ambience of Mike's Global Grill. They invite you to enjoy the flavors, entertainment and friendships that make Mike's a home away from home.
We hope you enjoy our selection of international dishes, made with fresh local ingredients.
