About Us
Our canyon view stables and arenas sit proudly between the two rivers, (Rio Caldera and Rio Cochea) and offer one of the best views in the area, with Volcan Baru as our dramatic backdrop. Las Trancas is the most narrow section of land to be found here, and located exactly where we are at the "bottle neck"between Brisas Boquetenas and Casa Hogar Trisker. Many years ago, when a cowboy desired a new mount, he would round his horse of choice up on this very spot, running these very grounds, chasing his prospect with rope twirling. Old remnants of the "horse" wall are still visible on this property, so it thrills us to know we're keeping tradition alive. Las Trancas simply means to 'block' off or close, off. 'a trancar.' There is much confusion with where exactly Las Trancas was. The remnants of the old Vaquero fence for the long ago horses, this famous and historical landmark are located precisely at our southern property border and to the north of us, last house, on the left hand side. It is not "Las Trancas" as you will see sometimes, rather plural, as they blocked the horses off from either end.
BEC is committed to providing the best possible care for each animal by horse care professionals with a lifetime of careers in the horse industry. Furthermore, we pride ourselves in our immediate actions First Aid experience and have saved many a horse from colic and grave accident, as we live right next to the stables and hear all, 24-7. Never is the property or horses left unattended. We offer individualized feed plans, turn-out and on-site farm manager. We are a full care facility and one of the only full-on Equestrian Centres to be found in Chiriqui, complete with English and Jumping, as well as our rodeo dedication and competition.
Due to our being a family run business, we have limited amount of boarders and prices reflect. You are getting horsemen with a life time of experience owning, caring for, breeding and raising horses if you choose us. We take care of any and all horses as if they were our own. Jessica is also a Farrier and has pulled many a shoe off a desperate horse, although she won't reset a shoe... no amount of money will get her to shoe your horse. She says horseshoes damage not only the hooves, but the overall health, vitality and longevity of horses, for that she is a Barefoot Hoof Care Specialist.
We are a full care facility with an 80' x 80' indoor schooling ring, 120' x 240' outdoor Competition arena, both with sand over hard compact material footing. Our boarder's barn is made entirely out of concrete, which we have found to be cooler in the summer and better in the winter. It has 12' x 12' and 12' x 14' box stalls, cross-ties available in the aisle way as well as tie stations with tie blocks at the stalls, and wash rack for bathing, with washing machine. Boarders are welcome to keep their tack boxes in front of their horses' stalls and we also have a separate tack room for extra space, should you need it. We designed a specialised viewing deck in the indoor arena for the parents and guests to watch as their children ride, from the convenience of couches and plush chairs. The viewing deck consists of a vestibule type entrance from highway side, with an 80 person occupancy in main space and public restrooms with 2 sinks in common area. BEC offers many well trained and nice ponies (kid friendly) and horses for sale, as well as weanlings and yearlings from our selectively bred stock.
We also offer riding lessons, horse training (even rank horses) as well as anything and everything in between. We are your "Number One Horse Source"!
Just this year we have encountered many children with will to win, yet short on cash. For this very reason, we have come up with our BEC Riding & Rodeo Club campaign, searching for sponsors. This sponsorship is beneficial for both parties, as we have a big rig to fill up with sponsorship space, classy rodeo shirts, max. monthly press coverage, as well as rodeo arena space for sponsor signs, lots of social media and followers and so much more. This is for rescue horses and competition students who can not afford the circuit.

Pony School! Just $25!
Start from ground up, learn to ride through pony care and classes. Group rates, just $25 per lesson of 1 hour. (we go over time) Students enjoy great activities, games on horseback, lively instructor and fun times. Never boring, always FUN!
Playdays & Events at BEC
We've already enjoyed half dozen shows in this summer season with playdays, barrel series, Trail and Ultimate Cowboy Challenge. We wil be offering more fun events in the very near future!
We don't have horses to rent, but we can help you find a dandy! (we do pre-purchase exams) There are many horses needing a TLC home.

We have created our shows and events around the entire family, and are very laid back and stress free. FUN is what we're about! (We can also instruct to a level of winning everything around)
Yes, we do offer classes! From $25 group rate, very affordable and created to encourage new riders to get those all important riding hours in, under watchful eye of pro.
